The Jewel In The Crown of Pembrokeshire

Tenby Pedestrianisation for 2017

Starting on Monday 10th July, pedestrianisation of Tenby begins. It will end on Friday September 8th. This is the 12th year in a row that this scheme has been in place.

This scheme prohibits unauthorised vehicles from entering the town’s walls between 11am and 5.30pm. During the summer, Tenby gets extremely busy with the population growing around 10 times it’s normal levels. This scheme helps alleviate traffic problems inside the town walls, where the roads get filled up with visitors browsing the local shops, cafes and tourist attractions.

A free park and ride service will operate from the Salterns & the Green car park, free of charge.

That service starts on Saturday 22nd July in conjunction with the start of the school holidays, and continues every day until Friday 8th September. The bus runs between 11am and 6pm approximately every quarter of an hour, stopping between 1.30pm and 2.15pm.

Residents of Tenby that are affected by the pedestrianisation have been issued permits back in May, with over 400 being issued.
